Cannabis! A Viper Vaudeville: Songs From The Show

A set of memorable songs that celebrate resistance and community, from the critically-acclaimed theatrical concert Cannabis! A Viper Vaudeville, kicking off a year of special events building momentum for an off-Broadway production in 2027.

Forbes celebrated the initial 2022 production as “A thrilling visual and aural spectacle.” The New York Times recognized Grace Galu as a “...magnetic powerhouse vocalist,” while describing Cannabis! A Viper Vaudeville as, “a call-to-action American history lesson” and noting “There’s no missing its call to activism.”

This set of songs from the show will feature Baba Israel as the Mystical Magical MC, fresh off his run of Word. Sound. Power. at BAM; with Grace Galu as Sativa Diva, and Duv as Hipster Trickster, alongside the show’s full band.

DJ Rickman of the Lift Up series opens the evening, followed by an appearance from multi-platinum producer Siba, a French-American MC, DJ, and producer who founded Get Open, the hip-hop collective Baba was part of in the ’90s. A DJ set, dance party, and cypher and jam session follow.

NYAHBINGHI WORD SOUND & POWER will appear to bless the work of Cannabis! A Viper Vaudeville, adding deeply cultural and spiritual  Nyahbinghi drumming and vocals.
