The PAX Four limited edition Aurora Burst color way is a dry herb vaporizer that offers users an elevated, intense experience while remaining lightweight and easy to use.
The setup for it is very simple and straightforward. After fully charging the PAX Four when it arrived, all I had to do was grind up some flower and pack it into the device. A quick process: all you have to do is pop off the bottom of the device, put in your flower of choice, and put the cap of the bottom back on it.
I was impressed with how PAX magnetized the bottom cap when designing the product. I was concerned the bottom cap would fall off after many uses, but so far, it has clipped back into place without any flower dropping out of it.
Designed to be turned on and off using a silicone cap on the top part of the device. That silicone cap is built to be removed and replaced with the inhale mouthpiece when using the vaporizer. I worried about losing the silicone cap in case it was the only way to turn the vaporizer on and off, but quickly realized that an internal button mechanism allows users to turn it on and off without the cap. Now, I’m worry-free.
The mouthpiece used to inhale smoke is not magnetized like the bottom cap, which I found to be a bit of a letdown when considering how it could fall off the device and get lost pretty easily.
While I tend to consider the worst-case scenario that could happen, I now recognize that Pax keeps the user experience seamless by avoiding certain design flaws.

4 Color-coded Heat Options
Petal 1 – Purple: Produces minimal vapor, provides discrete sessions
Petal 2 – Green: Extends sessions, conserves material
Petal 3 – Yellow: Enhances flavor, maintains smooth vapor
Petal 4 – Red: Maximizes vapor production; generates dense clouds
I found petal 2 (Green) worked best for my taste in smoking, allowing for an 8-10 minute session as I enjoyed the summer feel of the outside & feeling connected to nature.
One drawback I found with the PAX Four was that the device can get pretty warm, leading to times I had to put it down because of how hot it was in my hand.
That aspect is not something I am holding against the PAX Four, seeing as how the heat was emanating from the bottom of the device where the heating chamber is located. Worth noting just in case.

Battery life clocks in at around fifty minutes, which is solid and ideal for a device of this size. The only catch I found is that the recharge time is around two hours, with the vaporizer lasting half of that time when fully charged.
I did enjoy how the battery is designed to turn off automatically after a minute if the vaporizer is completely inactive, while staying active if it is in motion or being held in your hand. Other vaporizers I have encountered would either stay on when not turned off, leading to issues like continuous burning up & battery drain.
The only other issue would be turning off too quickly and having to turn it back on multiple times.

Pros
- USB-C Charging: (no need for the company-exclusive PAX magnetic charger replacement if you lose the first one)
- Hybrid Heater: Focused on Conduction + Convection, delivering dense clouds with 50% more vapor power than previous iterations, making it the most potent in the PAX lineup.
- Battery: The PAX Four has a battery life of 50 minutes (when fully charged), allowing up to 5 sessions before needing a recharge.
Cons
- Charge Time: The PAX Four takes 100 minutes to recharge. This isn’t necessarily a huge problem, but it can lead to waiting around much longer than anticipated if it is your sole means of smoking.
- Device Heat: When using the PAX Four, I found my hand getting too hot when holding the vaporizer between uses.
Verdict
Overall, I recommend the PAX Four to anyone who is looking for their next great, reliable vaporizer.
