Of Cannabis, Culture, and the Hudson Valley Community: A Letter from NORML

By: David C. Holland, Esq – Executive and Legal Director of Empire State NORML

Today, there is an ever-quickening pace of legalized medical and adult-use cannabis markets. The conversation increasingly trends towards the business of this emerging industry and the financial prospects that the Green Rush has to offer.

Correspondingly, those corporate-like conversations have spawned narrowly focused cannabis media outlets to cover them. Those outlets concentrate on business profiles and profits rather than the people who drive the local industry. This leaves a void when it comes to discussion and exploration of the culture of cannabis, the consumer, their preferences, and the lifestyles of those industries to serve. All that is about to change with the launch of THE OTHER!

The Hudson Valley is a topographic wonderland comprised of millions, which in the years to come, will be at the forefront of the cannabis industry, and THE OTHER will be there to cover it. With each issue, readers can expect coverage of regional industry leaders, cannabis culture, and the Hudson Valley consumers who will have considerable influence over this emerging industry. With articles, content, and advertising tailored towards cannabis culture, lifestyle, technologies, innovations, and accessories, readers of THE OTHER from Yonkers to the Capital Region and everywhere in between will enjoy the uniqueness of this new publication.

Empire State NORML, as the New York State affiliate of the National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), the oldest advocacy group devoted to cannabis culture and championing consumer interests, is excited to leaf through the pages of this new canna-centric publication. THE OTHER will provide subscribers and marketplace leaders with insightful reporting on the extraordinarily rich roots and cultural diversity of the cannabis industry in the Hudson Valley.

In the words of Doug Greene, “Cannabis Excelsior”. May cannabis culture and the industry it spawned move ever onward and ever upward!
